Our Story
We know selecting a breeder to pick
your next family member from is a
huge decision. We would like all of
our homes to have the best possible experience and that starts with getting to know who the people are behind the wonderful dogs you will cherish for years and years to come. I have had dogs my entire life. I grew up withGerman Shepards and a Golden Retriever/Collie rescue (Max). I showed horses on a highly competitive level and when I graduated college and moved across the country I got rid of them and adopted my dream dog, a Great Dane named Italia. I fell in love with the breed and began considering breeding but wanted to do it responsibly. I began with OFA health testing and learning everything that I could about the breed. Unfortunately my girl was not healthy enough to breed and could not pass OFA exams so she was spayed and kept for 12 years until her passing in 2023. I loved the breed so much that I purchased a quality dane and then I got my start breeding in 2014 with Great Danes. I bred Danes for several years before getting into showing in 2017. I have titled several dogs within AKC, UKC, & IABCA and truly enjoyed it until I lost my Italia and shortly after my first male dane in my program 6 months later at 11.5 years. My heart was broken and I was done breeding Danes.
That's when my husband mentioned the shortage in Golden Retrievers in the area and how he's always wanted one. Sure enough, I did some research and found that there is a huge population of 'doodle' breeders and backyard bred Goldens in the area but almost none within a 5 hour radius that bred responsibly with dogs that were health tested. In my childhood and early adulthood, Max, my family rescue was one of the best dogs we'd ever had, I knew I had a deep love for Goldens due to
him. After some hard work, Bomb City Goldens was born.
We are still in our infancy as Golden Retriever breeders but
have a mountain of knowledge in raising healthy, happy,
balanced puppies and pairing parents that will produce
only the best.
